Introduction to Programme

Do you believe it is now time to help bring hope to your Christian community and society? Then the diFECT programme of Daniel Institute has been designed for you. This programme is an accredited professional lay-counselling certificate programme which will enable all participants to obtain a licensing certificate from the Ghana Psychology Council (G.P.C.). This will ensure that our Pastors and Family Enrichment Lay-Counsellors comply with the legal framework established by the part five (5) of the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act (Act 875) with respect to counselling within the Ghanaian jurisdiction.
Programme Structure:
The Programme is composed of Four (4) module. Each of the first three modules comprises nine (9) courses. The 27 taught courses in the first three module may be takes either in-person or online. The fourth module is Supervised Practicum.
In addition, the diFECT programme will adequately prepare our Pastors and Family Enrichment Counsellors for the effective and efficient delivery of the various counselling roles they play in their local assemblies through well-organized and context-specific research-based counselling information. The diFECT programme is made up of three (3) coursework modules and one (1) supervised practicum (internship) module. Each coursework module contains nine (9) courses. The three (3) coursework modules are expected to run for about 12 months. Participants are to undergo a 400-hours of supervised practicum after completing the third module.
